Welcome to our November blog where we'll share some updates of things happening around Sligo and our historic pub.
We start this months blog with news of our Grovember campaign. Throughout the month of November, a number of our staff will go unshaven to help raise fund for our local Sligo Cancer Support Centre.
We'll provide regular updates on our social media page with a shave off event scheduled for December 5th.
All your support is much appreciated

Table entry is €20 and all money raised on the night will go directly to the Sligo Cancer Support Centre.
Hawk's Well Theatre
November throws up plenty of great events at our local theatre with highlights including music from Moxie and Máirtín O’Connor, Cathal Hayden & Seamie O’Dowd. Looking out to December, there's some great things planned with Kieran Quinn hosting an Elvis at Christmas event and an Evening with Shane Martin event entitled "Pathways to Health and Happiness". For further details and tickets see here.
Work is underway on a new business opening soon on Markievicz road. RUNPOD is set to be Sligo’s newest running shoe store. We're looking forward to the opening and it's great to have a new business opening in the area.
The Model also has a full line-up of events throughout November including the Model Cinema, Sligo Global Kitchen, a number of informal music afternoons and a host of events this week for Science week. For full event listings see here.

Around our pub
We continue to extend our premium whiskey collection with a number of new arrivals including the Tyrconnell 16yr old, Tipperary whiskey, Knappogue Castle, Egans, DWD and JJ. Connell arriving this week.
Following the success of our last Whiskey Tasting event, we've scheduled our next Whiskey Tasting Masterclass on December 7th. at 8pm. This time around Tony Ryan (West Cork Whiskey Ambassador) will take us through six great Irish whiskies and tell us all about how West Cork Distillery goes about making great Irish whiskey.
We also continue to bring new Gins into our growing collection. Recently we introduced An Dúlamán, an Irish maritime Gin from the Sliabh Liag distillery in Donegal. A hommage to the Wild Atlantic Way coast line, An Dúlamán is distilled with the finest seaweed to give it a distinct flavour. It's certainly proving a popular choice with our customers.
With December and Christmas party season just around the corner we're happy to reserve a table or an area for you and your group in advance. Contact us online or in our pub to find out more.
Here's to November, with plenty happening. Cheers.
